The Iron County Historical Museum is a large outdoor museum that consists of 22 buildings. Visitors enjoy exploring The Lee LeBlanc Wildlife Art Gallery and the Bernhardt Contemporary Art Gallery, as well as the Main Building, which houses historic artifacts pertaining to the area's mining and logging heritage. The museum is open from mid-May until mid-October.

Located next to Whitefish Point Lighthouse, the oldest working lighthouse on Lake Superior, this museum features a wide range of exhibits that depict the history of shipwrecks. Guided tours of the fully-restored 1861 Lightkeepers Quarters are also available.
